Composition
Sodium chloride – NaCl with potassium iodate - KIO3
Application
Food grade salt is destined for consumption and food industry.
Manufacturing process
Wet salt is dried and then passed through a vibrating screen. Next it is transported to a iodising station where the potassium iodate is added. Finally, it is packaged.
Packaging
- 50 kg open-end paper bags, placed on Euro pallets in 7 layers of 3 bags each (1050 kg),
- 50 kg open-end plastic bags, placed on Euro pallets in 7 layers of 3 bags each (1050 kg),
- 1 kg plastic bags in w 25 kg collective plastic bags, placed on Euro pallets in 8 layers of 5 bags each (1000 kg),
- 1 kg plastic bags in 15 kg collective plastic bags, placed on Euro pallets in 8 layers of 8 bags (960 kg),
- 300 g salt shakers in a 9.6 kg half-box,
- pallet sides are protected with stretch film, top with a PE hood,
- a polyethylene or paper spacer is used between the bottom layer and the pallet
Customer requirements

Storage
The food grade salt is stored in a contained warehouse on surfaces allowing in-house truck handling. The storage place must be dry, clean and well ventilated. The salt is stacked on Euro pallets.

Distribution
Food grade salt is transported in trucks or containers. The means of transport must be clean, dry, free from foreign smells and properly tight. Salt is only released from the warehouse following a quality control and approval of further distribution conditions.
Handling notes
When the packaging containing iodised vacuum evaporated salt is torn or broken, or when the content has been all used up the packaging should be discarded into a waste container. The food grade salt must be stored in a dry, closed space.
