PKN ORLEN, Nafta Polska, Grupa Lotos and PGNiG agree over upstreem projects

PKN ORLEN, Nafta Polska, Grupa Lotos and PGNiG have signed an agreement dedicated to cooperation in exploration and the development of upstream projects.

The companies have decided to work together on projects which can develop the oil sector outside the country. The agreement is focused on possible synergies in upstream areas created through the companies’ various activities. Nafta Polska will take the main role in this project as coordinator, and will represent the other companies in public affairs in countries that are potential upstream partners.

The intention of this agreement is to develop and increase Poland’s energy safety by the diversification of supplies. The agreement may also help with the companies' strategy implementation and realization of the Government’s "Strategy for oil industry in Poland", published on 24th September 2002.

The first step in the implementation of this agreement will be to call for a meeting of all signatories’ representatives who will work on the details of cooperation. The agreement does not exclude the possibility of upstream exploration by each company on its own.
