Sustainability is the main driver for the development of the ORLEN Group. Sustainability at ORLEN means minimizing the impact on climate, protecting the natural environment, ensuring good working conditions in the company, cooperating with local communities and managing responsibly. The aim is to support the realization of the ORLEN2030 Strategy, strengthen the path to achieving Net Zero in 2050, and build long-term value for all stakeholders. Our approach allows to take advantage of the opportunities arising from the changes taking place around us and create value in the socially just transition of the company.
ORLEN Group Sustainability Strategy for 2024-2030
We consistently pursue our goals, ensuring energy security in Central Europe and, at the same time, caring for the natural environment, good relations with the environment and safe working conditions for all employees. By acting responsibly, we can more effectively obtain financing for strategic projects, including those generating a positive impact on society and the environment.
Pillars of sustainable strategy
The ORLEN Group's Sustainability Strategy for 2024-2030 responds to the most important contemporary market and regulatory challenges, which are related primarily to climate change, biodiversity protection, social relations, the geopolitical and economic situation. The document is based on five key pillars, in which the defined goals refer directly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). This is helpful not only in a comprehensive approach to responsible business conduct, but also to ensure a detailed and transparent reporting of sustainability-related issues resulting from, among others, from the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
We support the implementation of UN SDGs and the reporting according to the ESRS framework
By linking the pillars of the strategy with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), we fully address the current challenges related to climate change, loss of biodiversity and the geopolitical and economic challenges.
