Cooperation with Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek
ORLEN is a patron of the Żołnierze Niepodległości (trans. Soldiers of Independence) project, which honours those who fought for the independence of Poland.
ORLEN endorses the project Żołnierze Niepodległości – an online platform with a data base presenting biographies of 56 thousands of the soldiers from Polish Legions.
The project Żołnierze Niepodległości refers to the Independence Medal and Cross, established at the initiative of Mrs. Aleksandra Piłsudska. The outbreak of WWII disrupted granting those honours. The online platform aims to commemorate and honours those, who managed to receive the titles, but also those who were deceased or announced to have been honoured.
The platform is expanded by the biographies of the veterans from January Uprising, Siberia exiles, Greater Poland Uprising and Silesia Uprising, as well as other militants and soldiers who were fighting for Polish independence and borders.
