Peregrine falcon population recovery
We have been involved in the protection of the peregrine falcon for over 20 years.
In cooperation with The Society for Wild Animals SOKÓŁ, we have engaged in breeding peregrine falcon and restoring the population of this endangered species. In 1999, on the tall chimneys located on the ORLEN plant in Plock, we placed a nesting box that provided cosy shelter for our falcon couple. More than 50 chicks had fled the nest by 2020.
We provide our winged neighbours veterinary care, food and medicines and respond to all potential dangers, caring for safe breeding conditions. ORLEN’s project was awarded in the Polish Ecology Pantheon contest and tilted multiple Times by Forum Odpowiedzialnego Biznesu (The Responsible Business Forum) in the Responsible Business Report as a long-term good practice.
The webcams installed in the nest enable round-the-clock online preview.
