PKN is planning to increase significantly the crude oil processing
Under Art. 81, par.1, item 2 of the Law on Public Trading of Securities dated 21 August 1997 (Official Journal of Bills No 118, item 754 with the later amendments) The Management Board of Polski Koncern Naftowy S.A. informs that this year the Company is planning to increase significantly the crude oil processing which according to forecasts should reach the level of 12.8 mln tons by the end of 2000. By comparison, the refinery in Plock processed 12 mln tons of crude oil in 1999 and the other refineries in PKN Capital Group processed over 0.5 mln tons. Additionally, this year PKN S.A. is planning very important investments in the market infrastructure field. The key investments are the following:
- the commencement of works at the storage facility in Ostrow Wielkopolski and underground storage facility for crude oil and fuels in Inowroclaw;
- building a pipeline between Plock and Ostrow Wielkopolski as well as product and crude pipelines connecting the underground storage in Inowroclaw with the pipelines of PERN. Moreover, following its preliminary plans this year PKN S.A. is intending to exercise a comprehensive upgrade of its petrol stations network. It is expected that approximately 230 stations out of already existing ones will be upgraded, whereas at least 20 stations will be newly constructed. It will also be possible to make payments by credit cards at the stations of both brands (CPN and Petrochemia Plock ) now owned by PKN S.A.
