ORLEN is today a leading player in the LNG market in the Baltic region. ORLEN Group's reserved regasification capacities at the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie, the FSRU Klaipeda in Lithuania, Montoir in France and the FSRU in Gdansk (investment under construction) allow optimization and effective management of the LNG portfolio.
Import LNG
LNG imports are steadily increasing year after year. In 2023, it amounted to almost 4.66 million tons of LNG, equivalent to nearly 46% of Poland's total natural gas imports. Under ongoing long-term contracts and spot deliveries, ORLEN receives, among others, cargoes from the US and Qatar.
LNG fleet
With the implementation of its strategy to expand its LNG portfolio, ORLEN is consistently expanding our own fleet of LNG vessels. The ORLEN Group has chartered a total of eight LNG carriers for a period of 10 years. Four of these vessels are already in service, while the remaining four will be commissioned in 2025. Each of these modern vessels, with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters of LNG, can transport a cargo with a volume of about 70,000 tons of LNG, equivalent to about 100 million cubic meters of natural gas in a gaseus state.
